Bob Duff: Beware The Slides Of March Winless in March, the Detroit Red Wings could become the third team in franchise to play an entire calendar month without recording a victory.

It was okay.

Realistically the first rounder we got from Vegas this year can end up 25th overall at best, and will very likely be worse than that. At that range, the odds of picking a player who will end up better than Tatar will be over the remainder of his career are decidedly less than 50-50.

The additional second and third round picks in the deal give them more shots to add a good player, of course, making up some of the difference. But I don't think the deal is a home run for either team.

It really depends on what Detroit does with the picks. If Detroit gets boned in the draft lottery but can use Vegas' first rounder to move up a few spots? That might be the best way to use it, depending on who might or might not be available. But we'll see.

Didn't see that coming. Mrazek pulled. Lol

Yeah I agree the trade is decent for both teams. It made sense bc it helps Detroit lose now and get (likely) a higher pick as they weren't going anywhere for a few years. It also adds a few more shots at adding young talent. I fear this will be a long downturn though. Waiting for all these crappy contracts to clear. Stephen Weiss's buyout. LTIR for franzen, in addition to Z and kronwall most likely. Little in the way of impact prospects. It feels bad. Very bad

Wasn't a bad trade, but certainly a disastrous trade deadline for the wings. I am sure the fans were hoping to move other contracts rather than tats. Also, I was surprised that Green wasn't moved. Kenny H probably had the battery die on his phone and called er a day.

Green not being traded was disappointing. I liked the Tatar trade.
